Although Kiwis were never really that hard to peel with the spoon, for some odd reason I always found the task laborious. This thing makes it really easy and quick to have chopped kiwis for the kids.
Must have if you cut kiwi at home! My favorite kitchen tool to use because it’s so easy, weighs almost nothing and is easy to use!
As much as I love kiwis I always hated slicing them so it was worth the risk. This magical device exceeded my expectations on an exponential scale. In less than 30 seconds I have an entire kiwi perfectly sliced and ready to eat. I feared that the nature of this gadget would cause some of the precious kiwi fruit to be left on the skin, wasting its sweet magnificence. But the wires are flexible enough to flawlessly conform to the inside surface of the skin, sharp enough to slice through the fruit but do not stab through the skin! I extract up to 90 percent of the goodness. Higher yield and efficiency over The countless peeling and slicing methods I have tried.
I would give 5 stars and shipping took faster than I would have expected. The price also went down after I bought more which brings shame to the honor of my family and I could give one of these to my friends and neighbors. They love it and ask me where to find this product!
I can’t believe I’ve been wasting my time cutting kiwis. This little gadget cuts the time easily in half. I stopped buying kiwis because they’re just so annoying to scoop out and cut up, but this is great if you buy a lot for smoothies and whatnot, and this tool does all the work, just cut the kiwi in half, press the tool in until you hit the bottom of the kiwi skin and twist (over a bowl, the juice gets a little messy otherwise) and out will pop 4 perfect kiwi chunks. Took me 3 minutes to cut up an entire container when it would normally take me at least 10 minutes, and this is a lot less messy!
I love kitchen gadgets and some are worth it, and others just aren't (e.g. cherry pitter, watermelon slicer...). This is worth it. I love it. I'd say it works easily with about 80-90% of the kiwis. If you get an oval shaped kiwi, it's a little more difficult (if you catch the skin and cut it, then you have to be a little more careful in finishing up with it). It also helps if they are ripe (soft). But once you get the hang of it, it's just fine. My 12yo daughter loves kiwis and it was such a pain to skin them for her to pack in her lunch. This makes it fast - even she does it.
I will start by saying I'm an addict for gadgets, especially those for kitchen-use. I purchased this on whim after I brought home a giant box of kiwis. Shipping took a SHORT time, and it was well worth the wait.
It takes a few minutes to figure out how to use it, but you can seriously peel an entire box of kiwis in under a minute. First, simply slide the middle knife out of the ring and use it to cut the kiwi in half (although I prefer just using a normal knife). Then, center the wire "x" in the middle of one kiwi half and push all the way in. Firmly grasp the kiwi with one hand, and twist the kiwi peeler 360 degrees. Pull out the kiwi peeler over a plate/bowl and the kiwi should come out in nicely diced pieces.
After I used it for the first time, I immediately purchased 3 more to give to friends/family. Looks/sounds gimmicky but you won't regret buying one!
Cutting/peeling kiwi isn't difficult, just kind of annoying, but this makes it fast and easy. As long as the kiwi is ripe enough, this works great! Just wash the kiwi, cut in half, press this all the way through the center to the end and twist. Voila! Out comes 4 nice little pieces of kiwi, leaving just a half shell of a peel. Super simple and fast. Definitely worth it.
